There is no guarantee that you’ll find another resort that ensures your allergen details are a priority, but Hyatt Ziva/Zilara goes the extra mile asking you upon check in. You might be asked again while visiting a restaurant on property but bear in mind that Hyatt takes their standard-bearing service seriously. Check in on your day pass and stop by GrindZ coffee bar by the Ziva and get your coffix for the long day ahead. Be sure to catch breakfast at Horizons at the Zilara property and opt for the Yardstyle Omelette for that real Jamaican goodness with a perfectly blended hint of seafood.
Digest and take a quick dip in the pool by IslandZ though I must warn that the mesmerizing blue-tile clad pool floor will have you hesitant to exit, but if you’re strong enough to resist to urge to stay, chill out from your pool break at West End Grill. Your chilled can of Redstripe beer will be served with a smile, so order a Beef or Chicken Burger, or both if you’re thank kind of person. For those of us who take the 2000-calorie daily diet seriously, then West End Grill offers a lending hand, serving made-to-order Pizza and hosting a Nacho Station that is always stacked. Just have a cup of infused water to create your false sense of clean eating while you await your order.
Zone back into the groove of things taking a dip in the pool by the Ziva with complete immersion into the mini pool party, and have a Mojito from the swim-up bar (Lagoonz) or a Draught Beer, then pose up on one of the floaties in the pool like those girls we see on Instagram. If you’re not about that swim and drink life, then you have every reason to rent one of the limited pool cabana’s for only $49 USD. Beach Cabana’s are also available for rent, starting at $59 USD each, and Aqua Cabanas go for $69 USD and make monitoring your kids in the pool easier. They tell us time goes by quickly when having fun, and if you don’t mind sharp, you’ll miss your usual lunch time. But luckily at Hyatt, there is no set lunch time. So Grab your shirt and cover your bikini-clad person and head to Blue Grill at CalypZo. Enjoy a specially prepared potato salad, as you await your Sirloin Beef Burger.
In this golden age where “is there wifi?” Seems to be the first question, Hyatt Ziva and Zilara gets it right in this regard. The WiFi will be your company at every corner of the properties, so you can send enviable photos and snaps to your friends, or make your followers on the Gram jealous, sharing every moment in your story. Jamaican Jerk remains undefeated, but there is something extra special about the Jerk this beach-front shack at the Ziva; Barefoot Jerkz has to offer. You’ll see what I mean when you try it. Just please don’t leave the resort without sampling the sizzles of this Jerk joint. Pork is Z talk of Z town, but chicken is also available if you happen to live by Leviticus 11.
If you’re looking for the perfect way to end your stay at this 5- star resort, your day pass grants you access to the steam room, sauna and changing rooms at the Zen Spa, just bear in mind that additional spa services will attract additional costs. If you’re traveling with kids, you’ll see why the Hyatt Ziva has been voted the Caribbean’s leading family all-inclusive resort for the past two years, by the World Travel Awards, just remember that the Zilara is exclusively for Zilara Guests only. Ziva adult guests can however enjoy dining on the Zilara property at the Urban Heat by FlavourZ and the Jamaican Roots by HoriZon restaurants.
Day passes can be purchased by contacting the resort at (876)- 618-1234 or (876) 953-2800.
